How to Transition from Vertical Descents in Routines

Quick transitions from underwater are a key in rapid routines and in good choreography- do not waste time underwater while the music goes on and on. Vertical descents and spins add difficulty, instead of piking or tucking from every vertical.

A simple arm transition during the descent is the solution. From a vertical, thrust, or spin, simply pull the elbows up toward the waist and then extend the hands up towards the surface. Time the arm transition to finish when the descent is complete so you can quickly pull up into another vertical, tabletop or split. The same arm transition works for a tuck into a boost or eggbeater. Hands are at about hip level when the descent is completed and can be used to help tuck and somersault up towards the surface.

Drills:

  1. Start in a tabletop. Extend and press up to vertical at maximum height. Descend and catch the ankles with the proper arm transition. Pull up into the tabletop and repeat. Also repeat catching with the toes just beneath the surface.
  2. Start in a vertical just beneath the surface. Pull up to bent knee vertical at height. Extend into a vertical and press up to maximum height. Descend and catch the ankles with the proper arm transition. Press up into a bent knee vertical and repeat. Also repeat catching with the toes just beneath the surface.
  3. Start in a compact pike just beneath the surface. Thrust into a vertical. Descend and catch just beneath the surface. Pike up into the compact pike and repeat.

Shipping

esynchro has researched multiple shipping options and found that USPS is the best option for our company. However, the online application limits appropriate selection of shipping options by allowing the customer to select options that are inadequate for shipping certain items. In some cases we have decided to determine a flat rate for postage. For items that are not in stock at all times, it is noted that the item will take 2 to 4 weeks to ship no matter what shipping option you choose. In most cases we will still use Priority shipping after the item is produced. Our apologies for the confusion and we are doing our best to ship your orders in a timely fashion.
